Reinforcing Social and Emotional skills at home through arts
Parenting a grieving child is a complex, emotionally charged journey. It might feel like trying to navigate through a storm while keeping your child sheltered.
When children draw or color, words are not needed. There’s a connection between the head, the heart, and the hand which helps them express big emotions when words are failing them. This supports the development of their emotional literacy, engage on their level while assessing their understanding of situation.
Each month we provide activities and prompts to support you in initiating purposeful dialogs with your child.
Through the activity your child might provide clues to what they might be feeling, or maybe struggling at the moment. Each moment spent together over paints, papers, and glue is an opportunity to explore the depths of your child's imagination, witnessing their joy and wonder as they bring their ideas to life.
